What Is the Drunk Spelling Bee at Dacha Navy Yard?

The Drunk Spelling Bee is a competitive spelling event with a beer garden twist: competitors take the stage and put their vocabulary to the test while enjoying drinks at Dacha Beer Garden Navy Yard. It is free to enter, open to anyone who wants to play, and draws a lively crowd of both competitors and spectators.

This is the second annual edition of the event, returning to 79 Potomac Ave SE on Thursday, October 29 at 7 PM. RSVP through the link in Dacha's Instagram bio to secure your spot before it fills up.

Not Competing? The Cider Week Menu Has You Covered

You do not have to enter the spelling bee to have a good time. Spectators are welcome to come out, cheer on the competitors, and order from an exclusive Cider Week menu that Dacha is running alongside the event.

The combination of a draft cider lineup and live competitive spelling makes this one of the more distinctive evenings at the Capitol Riverfront beer garden this fall. No grade required, no pressure to play.
