Schwanzfest is Dacha Beer Garden Shaw's closing-day celebration of Oktoberfest: a free, queer-friendly Sunday afternoon that pairs the classic beer garden spirit with drag, trivia, and competitive pretzel tossing. It runs Sunday, October 4th from 12 PM to 3 PM at 1600 7th Street NW in Shaw.
The event is free to attend, making it one of the more affordable Sunday Funday options in the Shaw and U Street corridor this fall.
Drag Brunch to Kick Off the Afternoon
A Drag Brunch hosted by @misss_sarahtonin opens the event, setting the tone for the rest of the afternoon. Drag brunch at a beer garden combines the outdoor patio atmosphere of Dacha Shaw with live performance in a way that is hard to find in the neighborhood.
