What Is the Sip & Sculpt Workshop at Dacha Navy Yard?
Sip & Sculpt is a relaxed, guided pottery workshop hosted by Pottery with a Purpose inside Dacha Beer Garden Navy Yard. No prior experience is needed: the session introduces hand-building techniques like pinch pots and coils, and you leave with a one-of-a-kind piece you built yourself. The format is designed to be low-pressure and sociable, pairing the tactile focus of making pottery with the casual atmosphere of one of Capitol Riverfront's favorite outdoor bars.
This is a special Halloween edition of the series, taking place on Thursday, October 29 from 6:30–8:30 PM. Pottery with a Purpose donates one dollar from every ticket to mental health initiatives, so the workshop carries a broader purpose beyond the craft itself.
What Does the Workshop Include?
Every ticket covers hands-on instruction from an experienced host, all clay, tools, and materials, and a walkthrough of foundational pottery techniques. Guests can shape mugs, bowls, vases, or planters, and learn how to add handles and texture to their pieces. Everything you need is brought to the venue; you arrive with nothing but yourself.
After the workshop, pieces can be air-dried at home. For a waterproof, food-safe finish, glazing and firing at a kiln and ceramic studio is required; details are available through the sign-up link. Craft beer is available throughout the session at Dacha Beer Garden Navy Yard, keeping the evening social from start to finish.
