Dacha hosts small weddings and rehearsal dinners in the Dacha Loft in Shaw, and pre-wedding welcome receptions in both beer gardens, in Navy Yard and in Shaw. Most wedding groups we host have between 50 and 150 guests.
Can you have a small wedding at Dacha in Washington DC?
Yes, in the Dacha Loft, our private event space above the Shaw beer garden at 1600 7th St NW. The Loft seats 40 for dinner and holds up to 60 for a standing reception, a size that suits a small wedding. The Loft hosts both small wedding ceremonies and receptions.
The Loft is 600 square feet of exposed red brick and hardwood floors, with arched windows, natural light and adjustable lighting for the evening. All rentals are on site, and a manager is there for every event. It opened in the fall of 2016 and now hosts rehearsal dinners, wedding receptions, bridal showers and engagement parties. The photos below show the Loft set up for events: long tables, exposed brick and string lights.
Can we hold a rehearsal dinner in the Dacha Loft in Shaw?
Yes. The Loft seats up to 40 for a rehearsal dinner, and the menu can be a four-course dinner, passed hors d'oeuvres, food stations or brunch bites, chosen with our team at your price point.
In Shaw, a rehearsal dinner in the Loft can be paired with a welcome party in the beer garden below, which holds up to 250 guests.
Where can we host a wedding welcome reception at Dacha in Navy Yard or Shaw?
Welcome receptions before the wedding are our gardens' specialty, especially in Navy Yard. Dacha Navy Yard, at 79 Potomac Ave SE on the bank of the Anacostia River across from Nationals Park, holds up to 800 guests. Dacha Shaw, at 1600 7th St NW, holds up to 250. In Shaw, a wedding group books a section of the garden rather than the whole garden.
Include your date and guest count in your event inquiry. In Navy Yard, parking is limited, especially on game days, so we encourage guests to use a taxi, Uber, Lyft or public transportation.
Can we combine a rehearsal dinner at Jackie or in the Dacha Loft with a welcome party at Dacha?
Yes, and many couples have done exactly that. In Navy Yard, you can pair a rehearsal dinner at Jackie, our sister restaurant next door at 79 Potomac Ave SE, with a larger welcome party in the Dacha garden. In Shaw, the same plan works with the Loft upstairs and the garden below.
For scale: Jackie's JFK Private Room seats 35 and its Dining Room 80, and the Navy Yard garden holds up to 800. In Shaw, the Loft seats 40 and the garden holds up to 250.
